
Dr Mariusz Marek Ostrowski MD, PhD, FEBS (Breast)
Consultant General, Oncoplastic Breast, Skin & Endocrine Surgeon.
Dr Marek has worked as a consultant general and breast surgeon in the United Kingdom, Poland, and Kenya for over 15 years.
He graduated from the Medical University of Gdansk in Poland in 1995 and thereafter trained in General Surgery, receiving the Certificate of Completion of Training in 2008. Subsequently, he undertook subspecialty training in breast cancer, oncoplastic-reconstructive surgery and surgical oncology. In 2012 he obtained the European Board of Surgery (EBS) Qualification in Breast Surgery.

Dr Marek's areas of expertise include the diagnosis and management of all aspects of breast and skin problems, benign and malignant, including breast pain, nipple discharge, family history, melanoma, breast cancer treatment, immediate and delayed reconstruction, breast augmentation, implant exchange, reductions and lipomodelling. Dr Marek utilizes advanced oncoplastic techniques to optimize outcomes in breast cancer surgery while also focusing on aesthetic results.


He offers breast conserving surgery, immediate breast reconstruction with implants and flaps for patients undergoing mastectomy for breast cancer and offers sentinel lymph node biopsy for axillary staging of patients with breast cancer. He also offers correction of breast deformities and/or breast asymmetry to patients having undergone breast cancer surgery in the past.
Dr Ostrowski has conducted research on oxidative stress and received a research scholarship from Nagoya University School of Medicine in Japan which led to his PhD in Medical Sciences: “Antioxidants in the process of Apoptosis in Cancer cells”.
He has been connected with Kenya for many years, having worked as a volunteer surgeon and a medical coordinator for NGOs.


Dr Marek is a Fellow of the Working Group of Breast Surgery European Board of Surgery FEBS (Breast), a Member of The Surgical Society of Kenya, The Association of Breast Surgery (ABS) UK, ESSO, EUSOMA and The American Society of Breast Surgeons.
